Plans for new park in Tooting unveiled

The first new park since the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park at Stratford opened after the Games in 2014 is due to open in Wandsworth on the site of the former Springfield mental health hospital in Tooting. Springfield Park will occupy almost half of the hospital grounds and include a café, events pavilion, two playgrounds and a rose garden.

Construction of the 32-acre park and is expected to start by the end of the year alongside 900 new homes, offices and a state-of-the-art mental health centre on the 81-acre site.
